Angels and Demons

Angels play an important role in the Bible and so they deserve to be looked at and studied.  Typically, there can be a few extremes to avoid with Angels to where they are either ignored altogether or the subject of Angels-holy or fallen-can consume the imagination to the detriment of things that really matter most.  From the Scriptures we can tell that the Angels are very powerful creatures.  And they are creatures, created by God.  They do not create as does God.  Angels have great power that has been delegated to them by God and great wisdom and knowledge which makes us humans look like great simpletons by comparison.  Yet it is important to remember that the power of Angels remains limited and thus cannot be compared to the infinite power of God even though compared to us the power of Angels is very great.  From the Scriptures it is apparent that the Angels do have a great deal power and influence over the affairs of men in influencing government.  More specifically, each child is said to have been supplied with an angel who appeals to God on their behalf.  This is a ministry of angels which the Scriptures declare extends to all believers.  In this earth the Angels act as agents to carry out the will of God in the Earth.

Yet the Scriptures declare that not all of the Angels are holy, but that there are nefarious angels.  These dark spirits were led by rebellion by one of the chief angels of all the angels, Lucifer.  Some people have dismissed these demons as hogwash and the imagination of the latter period of the Bible; however, the doctrine of Satan goes back to the earliest books of the Bible.  Its actually the imaginations of the higher critics which is hogwash.  As the holy angels work out good in the world, the demons work out evil in the world and are responsible for even possessing people.  These possessions should not be confused with medically diagnosed issues.  These possessions should be understood to be distinct from the medical conditions such as epilepsy.  Some of the greatest proofs of the Messianic mission of Jesus come from His exorcisms of these dark spirits.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 is a passage that states; Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

This is an excellent topic for the time that we are living in. With that said, I wonder why the book of Enoch didn’t make the canon. This book gives the most detailed account of what happed with the fallen ones. It also reaffirms what is to take place in the “end times”..

    Thanks for the post!

The reason why the Book of Enoch didn’t make it into the canon can be found in Augustine’s the City of God where he explains that the book of Enoch has no history of transmission to be able to confirm that it has been faithfully preserved throughout the ages. That being said, there are some remarkable prophecies in the Book of Enoch that remain productive to be learned from today including prophecies about the crusades which occurred over a thousand years after the must skeptical of daters of the Book of Enoch. The Apostle Jude recognized that there was at least some authority that was preserved in the New Testament era from the Book of Enoch.

Thank you for your response! You are correct. However, this was true prior to the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947. Prior to this finding, we only had the Greek version of this book. The Greek version could not be “validated”. (the Ethiopic text written in Ge’ez)

Now that the book has been found in the scrolls, written in Hebrew/Aramaic, we can now apply the same criteria that was applied to other OT books.

Again, thank you for your response!

Angels and demeans are part of the life since both negative and positive forces of the life are combined and integrated. The suggestions of the british essay writing service are invoked for the angel like creature for the establishment of the reflection of the success for life.
